Experience MX Barangay Caravan with Me!
I don’t remember where I heard this from but since then, whenever I do something for the first time, my mantra will be:
“Walang nagsisimulang magaling”
A Rookie Joined the Barangay Caravan!
Let me tell you tell this, I’ve been hired at MemoXpress –one of the top dealers of top brands smartphones here in the Philippines as a Content Writer under the Digital Marketing Department. I am fascinated and humbled for their trust and in believing with the potentials I have as I, together with the company grows together.
I, Mikee Dela Cruz have been in the company for a week. Yes, just for a week! And never would I think that they will let a newbie like me join in the MX Barangay Caravan as a celebration for MemoXpress 21-derful years –hang with them and do fieldwork with them.
Team Pandi, Bulacan!
Yesterday, July 28, 2019, the last leg of MemoXpress Barangay Caravan happened simultaneously at Indang Cavite and Pandi, Bulacan. Luckily, I’ve been assigned to join the Pandi, Bulacan Team lead by our Marketing Manager Ma’am Agnes along with the Digital Marketing Assistants –Ma’am Jen and Ma’am Mau and Graphic Artists –Ma’am Precious, Sir Kenneth and Sir Greg. My mentor, Digital Marketing Head, Sir Niño let me in to the event to observe what is happening during an actual MX event for he merely believes that in order for me to write a good and interactive content, I have to experience things in first hand.
MX Barangay Caravan is mainly about bringing closer the latest technology to everyone and make them educated enough in using one. You are a family to us so we want you to be confident, classy and knowledgeable with the gadgets you are using as part of your daily lives.
Lots of MX staff were there –from the Learning Hub Team, Sales Support Team, Logistics and of course the Marketing Team. I saw a great camaraderie happening there –hug greetings, Hi’s and Hello’s to everyone they meet. Only our team knows me but hey, everyone is smiling at me as if they have known me that long. I love the vibe!
When Ma’am Agnes and I got in there, everything’s set. They almost started the raffle promos for Alcatel Buy 1 Get 1, selected units from 50-70% discounts, Huawei’s up to PHP2000 discount and so much more. Customers and kids are very excited with the fun, gifts, and freebies MemoXpress and Brand Partners will give them.
What will I do???
Roaming around, I asked myself “Ano pa’ng gagawin ko dito?” It’s an overwhelming feeling to be part of the caravan and at the same time anxious for I don’t know exactly what my role will be though I’ve been asked to observe at the event. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been into other events. I’m always excited in meeting new people and make them happy in every possible way I can, but what makes this one different is that I have no specific role to do so.
Then, a realization hits me at the event proper when everyone is so busy assisting clients, selling smartphones, facilitating at the program, packing the prizes, documenting the event and the likes, so I asked what I can do to help them and at least lessen the work they’re doing. They are now telling me things I need to know in events like this. So at times, with or without command, I do things I think it needs to be done.
I also realized that in running a live event, everything is fast-paced. You need to be attentive and have the initiative to know who needs your manpower. Things will get rough for sure –weather will not always be cooperative, prizes were lacking, defective units, but at the end of the day, you need to work with each other to get things properly done. Working under pressure with a smile on your face is one of MemoXpress’ trademarks aside from giving you our Value Added Services (VAS) or the service we give after sales. Your trusts are our source of power so always expect unending and exceptional customer service.
As time passes by, my questions have been answered by my own doings. It is true that you’ll never know if you’ll never try. Ask questions and be teachable. Reach out to the people around you and of course, use your common sense. Not because you were told do this, that doesn’t mean you will not do that. Great interpersonal skill is also a must.
My tiredness will not level at least half of the tiredness of the people who really worked hard behind this successful event -humans of MemoXpress together with the cellphone brands sponsors like Samsung, Huawei, Vivo, OPPO, Realme, Alcatel, Star Mobile, and Neffos co-sponsored by the Network providers like Smart, Sun and Globe as well as the financing company partners like Flexi Finance, Home Credit and Cashalo.
I owe every step of mine closer to success to the people who trusted me since day one.
Kudos to all MX Barangay Caravans!
Happy 21-derful Years!
